Description
Guelder Rose | Viburnum opulus
For a single row of hedging, you will need 4 plants per metre; for a double row of hedging, you will need 6 plants per metre.
A beautiful native shrub of woods and wetlands with attractive large white flowers in the summer, and clusters of bright red berries in the autumn. The brilliant red autumnal foliage is an attractive addition to a mixed hedge.
Ideal for shady borders or for woodland style planting, guelder rose will grow in full sun or in shade in moist but well-drained soil.
The white flowers appear in June and July and are a good food source for pollinators attracting hoverflies and other insects. The red berries in the autumn are an important food source for a variety of birds including finches.
Our guelder rose whips are grown in the UK from UK origin seed.
