Description

Sheep’s fescue is a perennial grass which can grow to a height of about 60cm.  It is found growing across most of the British Isles usually on poorer soils. In open situations and on hills/mountains it grows well.

It is very hardy and drought resistant and will withstand close cutting. The yield from foliage is low but it is nutritious and in particular good for sheep grazing

It flowers from May to July
