Customer Meadows

For every customers meadow pictures we can use we will send 25 grams of our cottage garden mix free of charge

Many times we are asked what will my meadow look like?

Over the past few years we have asked our existing customers for pictures of their meadows in digital form. (We welcome any that you have, preferably ones grown from our seed or mixtures).

On this page we have included some of the ones that have been sent to us. They demonstrate a wide range but also the difficulty in saying what your meadow will look like. The mixtures we supply are complex having up to 25 different species in them. Some species will flower in the first year some can take 2/3 years before they appear. Ox eye daisy often dominates early on

as can poppies in the first year.

Every season can be different even when it is the same mix in the same field. Hopefully the pictures as follow give you a flavour of what can work (and also sometimes when it doesn’t work the way you expect.)

The following are not wild flower pictures but wildlife pictures sent in by one of our customers in Scotland , enjoy.

This sequence of four pictures gives you an idea of the benefit of preparation and how in some season’s things can establish very quickly. The sequence of the pictures are autumn 05,april 06

May 06 an finally July 06,

We have now had a couple of pictures from this meadow in its second year and it demonstrates how much they can change from year to year.

The following example is of in some season you will see at least two different species dominate in one year. First red Campion and then Ox eye daisy.

The following are photographs taken of different perennial and cornfield annual species.

The following is where perennial and cornfield annuals have been sown together on a border.
